It is essential to confirm the type of labels that are compatible with your printer because all labels do not work for all printers. Some thermal printers only use their brand of shipping labels or require unique shipping label sizes.

What's The Difference Between Black Timing Mark and Transmissive Gap?

These are types of direct thermal roll labels. Direct thermal roll labels require a thermal printer.

Black Timing Mark

A black timing mark label has a black line on the release liner between each label. Also called black mark sensing, printers use timing marks to know when to stop feeding the label.

Transmissive Gap

A transmissive gap label uses a center gap reader to sense the space between the labels. Some gap labels, such as Dymo, also have a notch, but ours use only the space in between.

Some Zebra Label Printers, especially industrial models, can be set to "reflective" or "black mark" on the printer. However, some require you to adjust the settings within the software. This article guides how to find and adjust settings.

Rollo Label Printers require a holder for rolls behind the unit. Rollo has holders available for purchase on their site - shop label holders for 250 count roll size here and 1000 count roll size here.

Dymo printers are designed to work with Dymo labels only. Despite this, some of our customers have been able to use our black timing mark labels successfully.
 
Dymo does not warranty their printer unless their labels are used and they may not be willing to troubleshoot with you if using our labels.
