Printer Compatibility With Our Direct Thermal Labels

EcoEnclose offers two Zero Waste Direct Thermal Shipping Labels. We highly recommend checking label compatibility before purchasing our shipping labels, as some thermal printers only use their brand of shipping labels or unique shipping label sizes.

Black Timing Mark Labels: A Black Timing Mark Label uses a black timing mark. This mark is a black line on the release liner between each label. Also called black mark sensing, printers use timing marks to know when to stop feeding the label. Available in rolls of 250 labels (standard).

Transmissive Gap Labels: A Transmissive Gap Label uses a center gap reader to sense the space between the labels. Some gap labels also have a notch (typically DYMO labels), but ours use only the space in between with no cut-outs. Available in rolls of 250 labels (standard) or 1000 labels (industrial).

Standard Label Printers and Compatible EcoEnclose Labels

Zebra Label Printers

Zebra Label Printers are compatible with our Transmissive Gap and Black Timing Mark labels. Some Zebra Label Printers, especially industrial models, can be set to "reflective" or "black mark" on the printer itself. However, some require you to adjust the settings within the software itself. This article guides how to find settings and move your printer from one setting to another. Before ordering the labels, make sure which size roll the printer will accept (250 count or 1000 count).

Rollo Label Printers

Rollo Label Printers are compatible with our Black Timing Mark labels. Rollo Label Printers require a holder for rolls behind the unit. Rollo has a holder available for purchase on their site, compatible with our 250 count roll size only. EcoEnclose uses Rollo printers in-house and has always made our holders from a 5x5x5" corrugated box and a glue stick!

DYMO LabelWriter 4XL Label Printer
